      What is Cobra? Cobra's legend begun in September 1961 when American race car driver Carroll Shelby was looking for suitable chassis and body for Ford's V8 engine and transmission. He chose for these reputable British car producer's AC Cars Ltd.  AC ACE chassis and body. In February 1962 first sportcar with 260 CID V8 engine rolled out and it was extremely quick, not only then but also today - 3,9s from 0-100 kmh. To keep the weight on the low side insulation for the heat and noise were not used. It created a feeling that you are deafen by the engine roar and feet are fried by exhaust pipes. But if the car is the fastest at its time the real enthusiast does not care about these minor details

     Cobra’s history is full of victorious participations in different races. In 1963 was the first time when  in Riverside two Cobras won the race outperforming Corvette Stingrays.

     June 1963 - prestigious Le Mans 24 hours race - Cobra finishing 7th.

    March 1964 - Shelby in conjunction with  Ford Motor Company presents first 7,0 litre engined (490 HP) prototype what was the fastest car in its time.

     March 1964 -  7,0 litre Cobra 427 outperforms in a race Ferrari GTO.

     June 1964 - Cobras win Le Mans 24 hour race GT class outperforming Ferrari.

     In January 1965  the new ready for production Cobra 427 was revealed by Shelby American to press at Riverside International Speedway

     March 1967 - last Cobra 427 was made

     But Legend is back.  Old looks, new spirit. Yes it is REX R-12 Cobra do?
